Welcome to MissionAgenda.com, a website focused on the relationship between religion and climate change.
The first major objective of this site is to promote the book, Climate Change: the agenda for mission today, edited by Patrick McMullan and published in Seoul, 2009, by special arrangement with Dulsun Nalsum, a commercial publishing venture of the Benedictines from Waegwan Abbey. The book contains papers and reports presented at an international conference on climate change hosted by the The Missionary Society of St Columban (The Columbans) from 23 September until 29 September 2007. You can get a better idea of the topics covered at this conference by having a look at the Sneak Preview page. The book is retailing for US$20.00, which includes postage and handling. We offer discounts for multiple copies, or for those with extenuating circumstances. For more information use the contact us page.
The second major, and much broader, objective of this site is to promote an awareness of, and an engagement with, the fundamental link between religion and climate change. Whilst this project does not want to take an exclusive position in terms of religion there is an understandable bias given that the Columbans are a Catholic organisation. Nevertheless, the second objective of this website is not just a work in progress but a pressing task and an urgent agenda. We hope you will embrace the challenge.
“Preservation of the environment, promotion of sustainable development and particular attention to climate change are matters of grave concern for the entire human family." Pope Benedict XVI 1 September 2007
